Evening folks,
Heading to Kewsick in a few weeks and fancy getting a evening ride in on the friday and then 2 full days after that.
How does this all sound? Owt i should avoid or am missing?

Leaving work early to take advantage of the long evening, so something like...
1. Skiddaw and Ullock pike (obvs easy to do from Keswick)
2. Keppel cove and down Stick Pass (park at Patterdale, then drive back to Kewsick)
3. Blencathra and down to Scales Tarn then Scales - maybe a bonus Latrigg on the way home for the win

Any other options on the way to Keswick from the east?

Fancy heading up and over Griesdale Pike and then maybe one of these:
1. Ladyside Pike (looks to be a bit of a carry down at the start?), up whinlatter pass, Lord's seat, Barf, Whinaltter Garbonzo (is it open/ridable?)
2. Whiteside then Whin Ben (how techy?) probably back up newlands and down rigg beck
3. Crag Hill and Causey Pike (worth the effort? Or better to drop down to rigg beck and miss out causey pike?)
I did Hobcarton End the other week (ace) and have done Whitelees Pike a few times (also ace)

1. Park at Brothers water, up to hayeswater, Angle Tarn, Boredale House, Patterdale, Kepple cove, Sticks Pass (maybe too much)
2. Park at Patterdale, up Grisedale, up dolywagon pike (hmmm), along ridge and down sticks pass
Wow. I do like your suggestions . Some top routes there!
It might be slightly less driving ( though probably only the post ride drive is shorter really) by doing Stick west and then down Birkside on Friday.
Regarding Causey Pike, my comments on here https://strava.app.link/AgP6OrAUi3b weren't too enthusiastic. I can't recall much about it, which probably tells you all you need to know.

I've done High Street and Helvellyn together, but TBH HS is dull as **** and horrendous if not parched or frozen, so Boredale Hause etc sounds better.
Perhaps start in pattersale, North up Ullswater Bridleway, then back over Boredale and then up Helvelyn?
I presume you're aware of Seldom Seen option on Sticks East?

If you want a proper big ride then there's shit loads of options for a Helvelyn double. Eg

Fri - all good options.
Sat - don't know enough on these to comment, but from memory (doing them on foot a while back) I don't think Causey Pike would be rideable
Sun - If you want a big day in that area go for Helvellyn twice. Option as mentioned above, or from Glenridding side to include Dollywagon and Grisedale. Or 3 times for Sticks, Birk Side and Dollwagon....

Personally I'd say this is the wrong direction. People may do this way if Dollywagon is too tech, but based on your other suggestions I expect that's not an issue.

I was going to say exactly that, but realised I don't have evidence to back it up.:-) I'm sure Mark does though!
I'm really keen to try Dollywaggon again and think it looks great. I've only done it once, and thought it was shit, but that was on a fully rigid bike with cantis and toe clips 32 years ago. I'm sure it'd be a helluva lot more fun on a Slash.
Also, while I'm not a big fan of the Dollywaggon steps myself, the lower bit of Grisedale is one of the finest descents (I've done) in the Lakes, so pushing up it would be depressing. I've done a Helvellyn loop from Patterdale (possibly even the full High Street climb, because I'm a sucker for punishment, can't remember) and then added Ullswater bridleway and Boredale Hause loop on. So a figure of 8 day of sorts - advantage being you can refuel in Patterdale, carry less, or sack off the second loop if you've had enough/broken self or bike.

I did the climb up grisledale a few years go to the bottom of dolly wagon. Thought it was nice actually. Pretty much all ridable. I may have remembered the last bit wrongly though.
I like the would of it as a descent though.

Have a look on an OS map. You start off down Sticks east, but instead of following the Bridleway slightly south ( rightwardd) you continue dead east and up over a shoulder. Then veer ever so slightly ENE and descend into Glencoyn on the footpath. It passes right next to a farmhouse called Seldom Seen. A lot of people rave about it, but I'm not fully sure. It's really nice but I prefer my lakes rides more gnadgery and there's nothing techie on it till right at the bottom.
Don't get me wrong, if you git a pedal strike on the top bit you'd really regret it, but it's not the slow tricky rocky gnadge that Birkside has for example
