As above really, looking to get my first cross bike and these seem good value for carbon and discs, not sure if to get just the cheapest and upgrade the wheelset for races, any advice appreciated.

No opinion on the bike itself but tubs are the single biggest performance enhancer you can put on a CX bike. I'd rather run Sora with tubs than DA with clinchers.

Just ordered one to replace my alloy norco. The norco (with decent tubeless wheels) was a good bike but i fancy something a bit lighter and I went for the hydraulic disc version. I think I would always pay the extra to get away from mechanical discs, and even though I have juin tech cable / hydros I could stick on the cheaper planet x the hydraulic version did seem a bit of a bargain. No opinion on tubs i race occasionaly but I am old slow and overweight so wheels won't make much difference

The carbon tubbed xls is a couple of pounds lighter than the clincher wheel version. The cx1 xls with carbon tubs is the same weight as my Viner road bike..

Well mine arrived today and just got back from a couple of hours on it, very happy too. Much more comfortable than my previous all alloy norco and felt faster too, Went for the xl, 59cm, and the sizing is a bit odd, at 6' 1 1/2" there's not much seat post showing but I think the l would have been far too short and low at the front - the bars on this xl are lower than my 57cm norco cross, but it feels comforable even if does look a bit of a gate. So generally very happy. Now to find a devcent tubeless rear wheel for it.

There's not supposed to be much seatpost showing - this increases space in the frame to make shouldering easier. You've bought the right size!

Had mine for a couple of years now. No problems with the frame or forks, crank fell off shortly after getting it. Mine has the 105 group set which had a bottom pull front mech which needed a pulley mounted to the frame to operate it. Changed that for a top pull and much cleaner shifts now. Other that it's been a great bike and would recommend it.

I'm 6 feet tall, 31 inner leg and found the 57cm an ideal fit.
