Mate was out on his bike on Sunday (heavily used no fastidious maintenance) and rear hub proceeded to behave like a fixie.
Took the freewheel off for a look and lots of brown dirty water, etc.
Cleaned it up but noted the clip which holds the pawls in place was broken - the locating bit had broken off.
So...do you need the metal clip or (bodge time....) would a suitably sized o ring which fitted into the groove work so long as it holds the pawls in place??
Apparently there is no such thing as a silly question.....
