Anyone had any issues with this phone when cycling,starting last week it opens lots of apps when in pocket of my shorts. Have they done another so called upgrade and made the screen more sensitive .Or starting to bugger it up so you have to upgrade to a newer pixel or look at a different phone .
I don't think it's a phone-specific thing.
I find that when I'm doing something energetic, moving a fair bit and getting hot and I have it in my back pocket with screen facing inwards, it often dials numbers randomly with my bum.Â
Face the screen outwards and it doesn't.
Anything with exercise where moisture is getting generated can mess with touch screens. Ever used your phone in the rain and had things go haywire with droplets covering the screen?Â
It's like that but with bum moisture 😊
Yeah that sounds like the phone is moving around whilst you are and it unlocks and opens stuff as screen is depressedÂ
Put a pin code lock or thumbprint lock and make sure screen is locked (as it reads like it isn't).
I don't think they will have done anything to make it more buggy. (other than battery health related throttling but a new battery would sort that...)
Pixel 5 here and it's as good as it has ever been, one pair of shorts is worse for it as the pockets is a bit softer feel and seems to be hold moisture more.
For me it's more "pulling" the screen downwards while it's in a pocket and pressing the different settings, turning torch on, Bluetooth off etc. Worse with apps that keep the screen active like navigation. Just have to make sure it's properly locked before putting it in and not accidentally unlock it with a stray finger on the sensor.Â
Just one of those things that is worse when you are sweaty. Maybe even the salts contribute to it.Â
Will try shorts with pockets that are lower than the ones I have and if that's a fail buy a flip case.
