Anybody know of any camping sites around the Penmachno area. Looking at riding the trail and then spending the night before moving on to Snowdon early the next day. Not to fussed on facilities as long as there is a bog.

Try Bewts y coed and take your pick, or try the youth hostel opposite Swallow Falls. Stayed there a few times now and always been good.
Good pub in village too, The Stables I think it is called from memory, it's got lots of seating out the front and carpark to the rear through an arch way to the left of pub.

anjs - Yeah we know, hence the early start.
vinnyeh - Defo going to need a bog.

Might look closer to Snowdon, as in ride Penmachno and then drive closer to camp

Camped at Swallow Falls last year you wont get much sleep due to the noise of the falls and the ground is very slopey!! Didn't think much to facilities either but the youth hostel bit looks good. Just my opinion though other folk might have had better experiences though!

Rynys Camp-site (01690 710218), across the road from the Falls Cafe. Great views, good site, but a bit of a walk down the main road to the nearest pub....

+1 for Rynys campsite, approx 2 miles from Penmachno so you could cycle from the campsite.

Couple of sites up the A5 in Ogwen. The one at the base of Tryfan is quite good.
