Planning a trip for late summer / early autumn.

Where do you stay when you go?  Need a few twin rooms or a property than can cater for 6.  Preferably walking distance to Peebles or a restaurant and bar on site.

Cheers!

We always stay at craiguart guest house, they have 3 twin rooms, breakfast is pretty good, directly opposite Glentress, about 20min walk into town. Bike garage is secure tbh I park up and just leave the car there for the few days we go each year.

The forest lodges at Glentress are ok if you want basic accommodation. The last couple of times I've stayed at the Cardrona Hotel. It's a short drive back to town but it has loads of parking and bike storage. I've had some cheap deals on dinner bed and breakfast.

The trail house is really nice. Right next to trails at GT

2+ for craiguart, fab breakfast and plenty of it. Good hosts that leave you alone if that's what you want. Nice bedrooms etc.

3+ for Craiguart.

Stayed there in May. Great breakfasts and close to the trails  .

Don't let the dog in your room if you have any socks lying around.

He also kept trying to hump my arm.

Yep we forgot they had a younger dog now, lost a trainer for a bit on the last visit, breakfasts where great and if you let them know an eta they have been for us ready, offload the car and hit the trails as soon as you arrive!

My friends own and run the Trailhouse, which is a 2 minute pedal from Glentress. Bony's steakhouse is also 2 minute pedal.

Very, very nice place to stay if you're after self catering. They used to run chalets in Chamonix, so it's a good experience 🙂

Recommend Cleikum Mill Lodge Innerleithen,  Opposite No 1 Café !  A few pubs to choose from for food and a great Indian Restaurant along the street. set up for bikers with great drying room/ bike store which maybe useful in Autumn!!

Shops and Co Op nearby too which is handy.

For six people you could book the ground floor for exclusive use or book a choice of rooms.

Can cycle to Glentress along the bike path or in the back way, pretty much bangin the  centre of all the Enduro trails in the area too!

Cleikum Mill in Innerleithen.

Local shops and pubs. Easy to get to Inners or Glentress down the railway line.

Really nicely set up for bikers with large bike storage room. If there were fewer of you then the self contained flat upstairs would be great, or you could have rooms downstairs or exclusive use of downstairs (either way there are kitchen facilities available).
