Has anyone ever taken pedals with them in their hand luggage on an Easy Jet flight?

It won't be up to the airline, it will be up to airport security. If you could conceivably use them as a weapon I wouldn't risk it.

solid bits of metal, covered in spikes... (assuming flats), what could possibly go wrong at security... though spds may be ok..

I've done it with spds.

But I've had a pump checked.

Why risk it, you're packing the bike.
