Don't be wet - just ride the bl00dy thing.

Here's a clue - Cotic are based there.

You mean the same way that everyone did before the advent of full suss bikes?

it's better on a hardtail; the climbs are easier and quicker, and the descents are slower, and more interesting.

riding a hardtail means less time climbing and more time descending. and that's a win.

fit a big rear tyre, to take the edge off the pointiest rocks...

I like taking the ht on Cutgate, fun pumping through the boggy part towards the cairn, when it's dry anyway.

Ignore all the above replies ... riding in the Peak District on a hardtail will result in death or terminal injury ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not in the Peaks, they're not.

Unless you're looking for an excuse to buy a new bike? In which case, yes, you absolutely need a new bike to ride in the Peak District, buy one now.

Hardtail, in the Peaks? Are you completely mad?

Each stone at the top of Margery Hill commemorates a hardtail rider who has died on the Peak ๐Ÿ™‚

It's not easier on a hardtail, and unless you're on a fireroad I reckon even my Pitch climbs faster than a hardtail in the Peaks.

On the other hand, gritstone eats bikes, if your man enough a fully rigid singlespeed will save you a fortune in bike parts at the enxpense of your knees!

The rockier climbs are easier on a full suss (on my full suss anyway!) but I don't think there are many downhills that I take slower on my hard tail. More pinch punctures tho' lol

I took a friend down The Beast, Lockerbrook, WLT etc. at the weekend.

He was on a Rockhopper, with 63mm Judy's on the front and he's still talking to me...

I'd be more concerned that you have a talking bike. ๐Ÿ˜
