I posted the other day about my creaking SPD SL pedals. The bearings are loose although not obviously grindy and I've ridden far worse for longer without issue. However the axles are slightly bent, so probably time for a refresh.
A Google for specific axles doesn't show up much definitive, are the axles the same for many models? I'd rather repair than replace but I'm wondering if that's possible, they are pretty old.

they are pretty old
4 generations of 105 old. You'll be lucky. Same axle as PD 5600 and PD 6620 if that helps (unlikely, they're equally as ancient)
