We are in Belgium this weekend on a beery weekend, thinking we should try and get to Paris-Roubaix since we are only an hour or so up the road in Brugges.
Anyone give any pointers to any good spectator guides? We are using public transport for the weekend and no bikes, so while getting to Roubaix by train should be easy enough I'm not sure about getting to the cobbles......and I really want to get to the cobbles. The ASO website is fine for getting maps and arrival times but I can't find much in the way of assistance on access to different spots etc.

can't help you with the area as I always go by coach trip so they shuttle us around but one word of advice is watch out for pick pockets in roubaix as its full of dodgy looking people as the travel company pre warned us. so I made of point of watching the locals eying up people phones/ cameras and looking at their coat pockets.
try sports international if you want a days guiding and they pick people up locally if there is room on coach etc

If you can get a train to St amand les eaux, it is about a 30/45 min walk to the arenberg section. Not sure it's worth the hassle though.

If its windy and dry stand on the side with your back to wind. ๐Ÿ™‚
I watched from Mons en Pevele section and sat eating roadside bought rotisserie chicken. We couldnt be arsed to chase the race like you can do in Flanders. Arenburg will be be rammed and you will see more in the more open sectors but if it's freezing cold and you don't want to hang about just pick a couple of sectors and plot your route so you know exactly how you are going to get to the next one.
