Or just wear another, insulated, layer below. A thin fleece gilet or something would give you a bit of flexibility rather than investing in another jacket.

The Torres is the insulated version

I'm a big fan - warmth of a down jacket but really breathable, wash-in-able water proofing and in really foul weather if it gets wet through it still insulates.

Also, compared to other paramo stuff... cheap.

Quickly gets too warm in in warmer weather though - so in that spring/autumn cold in the morning, warm in the day period they lack versatility as theirs no venting.

The regular paramo stuff like the Velez or Pajaro (rather than the single layer windproof shells) even though not filled with insulation like the Torres are still pretty warm as the layers of material trap a lot of warmth whilst staying very breathable. You'll pay quite a bit more for them though. The extra cost is in details like ventilation and clever retracting velco adjusters (so exposed velcro doesn't rip up the rest of your gear) which makes them a bit more all-season

Paramo have their own outlet of ebay for seconds - I've never actually found anything wrong with anything I've bought through them though. Worth a look for bargains

If you wear a Paramo fleece under their windproof you end up with a full waterproof yet super breathable system, just needs reproofing now and again with TX direct and cleaning with Techwash. Or any of the Paramo waterproofs use the same outer as their windproof plus the 'pump liner' which keeps rain out and forces any sweat outwards as well as adding insulation (similar to a microfleece), so you end up with a lightly insulated windproof which is also fully waterproof and very breathable.

I've been using a Paramo Enduro windproof and Enduro fleece recently and they're great on a bike.

A bit of insulation means a normal paramo top

Proper insulation means the Torres, but it's synthetic down warm, not just a bit warmer

i also needed a new fleece, so took the advice to wear another layer beneath my windproof. ordered a paramo fleece instead.

The Paramo Bora windproof and hooded fleece are designed to be used together or separate. If used together its fairly waterproof. Good kit.

This

My Velez is ten years old and has been worn a few thousand times. I use a synthetic insulated gillet under it when its really cold.

Still a day left on this. £230 down to £100
