LBS has a 2020 Orange RX9 in stock, reduced to £1600 because it has a few scrapes. Seeing as I can't seem to get anything else remotely quick and I like different bikes I agreed the sale and pick it up tomorrow.
Then I started asking for prices to touch up the three marks on it.
How much??
Buy a tiny tin of model paint for less than £2. The Orange facebook group is pretty good for knowing the colour codes that match pretty well. You won't get a perfect finish but it will look good enough unless you really look closely.
have you got a link to the group?
Sorry, have you got a price already and we're guessing? Or are you asking us to estimate for you?
On a related tangent, does anyone know a good match for Norlando Grey?
Also what sort of finish are they quoting for - there's a range from "So good you'd never know it was damaged" to "We splodged some paint on/around the worst bits"
my mate has just got a can of raspberry sorbet for a rival brand £20 plus £11 postage, not sure how big a can..
I usually just walk the bike into halfrauds and look for the closest car touch up paint I can find, usually get a close enough match
Touched up paint often looks worse than the original marks....but then I can't see the photo so no idea how bad they actually are.

Go on Facebook Orange Riders for all the enamel paint and nail paint equivalents.
I’d just ride it as is.
Have look in the kit bag that comes with it, and you should find a small bottle of touch-up paint in the correct colour.
My Nukeproof came with a little pot of paint, great idea I thought till I tried it and found it didn't match!
For Sonder I asked them and they gave me the Panton codes, which I ordered for about a tenner each. One was spot on, the other a little off, which may have been the code or paint supplied.
I used the closest model paint for Soaris when I had the bottle cage bosses fitted, looks fine from anything more than 12" away.
If it really bothers you ask Orange for the code and have some made, or they may sell touch up paint.
But it'll get scratched up far worse than that once you start riding it anyway
Get a sticker of a lemon or lime for the cluster one, I wouldn't bother about the others.
Yeah, stickers are the answer. The bike is made of metal, it’ll survive. And “touched up” areas always look messy if you try and do it yourself. Don’t bother.
