Morning All
Recently, 5 weeks maybe, I have been experiencing some pain in the base of my left thunb, particularly when under load. I wonder if it could be due to a lack of support from my winter gloves, no name wind proof jobs or possibly to changing to carbon forks on my scandal a couple of months back?
The scandal is SS and mainly used for road riding which is what I have been riding most of late and off road I have a Heckler. Both have been of the road for the last couple of weeks so I've not been riding but still have the discomfort in my thumb.
It could also be my grips, Ergon GR2's on Scandal & Bontrager lock ons on the Heckler.
Anyhoo, as I need some new gloves I thought that would be as good place to start as any. Previously I've used Fox gel Reflex and Dakine Highwires but maybe I need something with more support?
Or the thumb levers on your shifters are in the wrong place for your hand shape/position? A subtle tweak of the shifter in/out or up/down may relieve this.
Obviously not an issue if you're a single ringer!
