Hi all, looking at moving to near Oxford next Summer, will be working just off the a34 next to Newbury so probably try live between the two (somewhere like Abingdon).

So my question is, is there much riding to be done around that area? Chilterns look to be around 30 mins away but I have no idea what the riding around there is like. I'll be moving from Aberystwyth so I've been quite spoilt for riding round here, great XC and DH!

Also I'll be looking into getting a road bike for commuting, are there any cunning bridleways or cycle paths that I'm missing that run down next to the A34? The back roads look Ok but a bit indirect and I'll be buggered if I'm riding the a34!

Loads

I'm in cholsey (about 10 miles form Abingdon) - waves to nick!

There's all the downs and the ridgeway to the west and to the east there is the chiltens and masses of woodland track and millions of options.

Not much dh but then cwmcarn is o ly about 1.5 hrs away and Aston hill only about an hour. Not Wales but different and all good! ๐Ÿ˜€

Well that's reassuring! Was a bit worried it'd all be flat!
