In order to stave off the temptation to get a new bike I'm considering getting 170mm forks for my 2015 Norco Range. Having already put offset bearings in and unable to use an offset headset I figure this combination will get me a slightly slacker angle and about the same BB height, which I'm finding slightly low with the offset bearings.
I can easily convert my wheels to 110mm but not sure if the disc brake mount will also be different? This would likely be a change from 160mm Pikes to 170mm Fox 36's, or possibly Z1 coil if I can stomach the extra weight.
Worth it?? It's that or give in to the temptation of the new Nukeproof Giga Carbon...

This keeps the disk mount in the same place.

Just watch you don't lose the spacers when taking the wheel out, if the diameter isn't too far off then you can wrap them with a bit of tape to hold them on the hub.

Check axle to crown heights of your current and new forks. Lyrik forks are longer than Fox 36, so a 160 Lyrik is only slightly shorter than a 170 fox. I expect Pikes would be similar.

I can't see the point personally, whats 10mm more travel/ slightly slacker/ slightly higher bb. It isn't earth shattering changes. Fork performance change from a pike probably ain't much.

Save ya pennies towards another bike or get some beers in. 🙂

You’re likely correct. I tinker to stave off my temptation to buy a new bike!
