what's the ifference between roadie (Dura-ace) and MTB (XT) - is it just the size of the plastic bit in the middle

basically, can I use the roadie one I've got (SMC-FC7800) in a MTB with the MTB plastic bit?

thread length. If yuor 68 shell you cant use the road ones.

oh and they are .5mm thinner too
