OT: what XC handlebars?

Feels like years* since I saw much chat about MTB handlebars here - must be really niche.

My old 25.4mm RaceFace stem seems to be corroding, so I could replace it with some cheapo thing, or take the opportunity to replace bar and stem with something 31.8mm. It's for a XC hardtail, most of which is 10+ years old.

So what's good in bars/ stems these days?

*til that thread about 2 hours ago about OneUp bars.

I have Spank Oozy Vibrocore bars on my hardtail. Bought originally to try and reduce vibration in my arm after a shoulder operation and they are definitely more 'comfortable' than the old aluminium bars they replaced.

Stem is a Hope 50mm TR (because they don't do the XC stem in 50mm length).

I like my Renthal carbon bars and also my cheapo PSA Cannondale carbon, can't tell much difference. Was looking for some cheap aluminium ones recently so not sure they're a thing anymore, probably post CRC?

Exactly! Time was I'd just go to CRC and find something decently light/ cheap/ within specs - the last one was a RaceFace stem/ bar bundle. Now it's a bit tougher to navigate; suggestion is the OneUp bars are great, but I've no real interest in going to a 35mm bar

Another vote for the Mt Zoom ones. Nice and light, comfy shape, pretty tough. Not as cheap as they used to be but still reasonable.

Mount Zoom are very good, the ends are thin so if you're prone to having a little lie down you may damage them.

These Prime Prima XC Carbons are bloody brilliant mind, I bought a few sets in the great CRC fire sale but luckily they are still available on eBay, you won't find a better set for the price.
