Looking for a larger bag for some multi day trips, around 20l.
Is Talon up to the job, or is the Raptor worth the extra £30. I already have a camelbak mule for day rides and can swap the bladders around.
Also open to other suggestions

The raptors are pretty nice. Well thought out, lots of nice features. The talon is a lot simpler, but I wouldn't say any less useable.
The difference is basically the bladder. Dunno if you've had a look at the osprey/nalgene ones, but the stiffening is a pretty good. Camelback mouthpieces are better, but I'd say the nalgene one wins overall for me.
Not really sure what I'm trying to say here... bascially, both bags are nice. If I needed a new bladder, I'd have a raptor. If I didn't, I'm not sure.

i'm lucky enough to have both, being into hill walking i bought a talon a while back and bought a raptor last monday.
i'd say thr raptor has more features, morepockets to divide stuff up and a better bladder design. but the talon can be better as it has the largest single pocket or space of any of them, which is handy if you are trying to get a small sleeping bag or other larger kit in, you'd be hard pressed to get a sleeping bag into the largest raptor.
Like scud I have both. I would say if your planning on taking more gear then the larger pocket on the talon is realy useful. The raptor is a great piece of kit-the best hydration system I have ever had. Well thought out and the bladder design is great!
I think either way will work its just a matter of wat will work best for you!
+1 for the 22l Talon. Tons of room and very comfortable. The bladder from my CB Mule fits the hydration pocket in the Talon easily and hangs from a small strap inside it
I wouldn't trade my talon for anything. I have a talon 33 for commuting and used it for a few away trips as well. Comfy, sturdy and still looks as new 2 years of use of everyday later. The one big pocket works well with dry bags, get different colours for sorting easily. 🙂
