[#2109670]

Been printing out screen shots of Os maps and printing them off to plot my routes just to see how the area around home is for riding. Found that we have lots good stuff to ride and having fun plotting routes out. My mate has a garmin thingy that he has never used (gadget rider who never rides) thinking of borrowing it to have a go. Whats the crack with them? I've seen route planner sites mentioned in forums. Whats the best way to get the most from them and do I actually need Garmin or can I just put my routes into these sites and print them of the way I'm doing now?

Routes are usually available a gpx file. You can download them or create your own. This file can be loaded onto a GPS, viewed in map program or on-line and printed. Its pretty easy and universal

This is good and simple. Just click on the map to add a point, keep adding points to make a route.

You can plot routes on OS maps on our site. You can then either transfer it directly to your mates Garmin(depending on model) or print it out.

You have to be signed in to do it, but its free. ๐Ÿ˜‰
