I'm 5' 9" on a large. Tried both and preferred it over the medium. They size up on the small side.

At 5' 8" you're also in the overlap between medium and large according to their size chart.

SUGGESTED RIDER HEIGHT

Medium 160- 175 cm 5'3"-5'9"
Large 170-185 cm 5’7”-6’1"

If it felt cramped I'd give the large a try.

5'7" and on a medium. Feels spot on for me but I can imagine how you felt as they're relatively short. Definitely try a large but watch for set tube length if you intend using a dropper. My Transfer is as far into the frame as it will go.

Blitz how did you find the standover height between the two? Shop thinks the large would be to high, definitely feels like sitting on edge of saddle to me,just the handover,,might have to ask them to send large over to bee sure,,,

Standover wasn't a massive factor for me so didn't pay too much attention to be honest. I mostly focused on reach. The large is fine though. I've got a 125mm reverb in there with a bit to spare. A 150mm might be touch and go but not tried. Here's a pic of mine with the reverb in my normal high position.

Out of interest I've just measured and I've got 45mm of seatpost below the collar so could get away with a 150mm dropper.

I got the AM M30 to replace my medium Stumpjumper. I went with medium and am 5' 10". It handles better then the SJ, I am sure a medium will be good for you.
