[Closed] Orange Five Question - How Tall / What Size?

Thinking about a new toy and the Five is an itch that I think I may need to scratch. But a quick question about sizing... I'm 5'8"ish and having had a few quick spins on a couple of mates 18"ers, they feel a bit big but I'm afraid a 16" would feel too small?

Cheers
Dave

Oh, and I'd be looking for a pre-2012 used one so a 17" isn't an option!

I'm 5' 11" and have an 18" 5. It fits me perfectly.

They do a 17" now, best have a try out me thinks.

Edit: Oops, remove the 17" option then.

I am 5' 9 1/2" and on a 16" Sub5. For long flat bits i have a Radgley Spike Post at full extension, but most of the time it still has a couple of inches hidden away and it doesn't feel short. I know it is not quite the same as a 5 but pretty similar

16" should be perfect for you. I'm 5'11" and whilst a 16" is clearly too small, I'd still go for one over an 18" because I can actually ride it. The 18" feels far too tall and long - I prefer the feel of a bike that's way too small to one that's a little bit too big. Obviously that's a personal preference/ different body shapes, etc etc.
Have a go on a 16" and it should be right.

I'm 5' 7" and have a 2011 16" 5 frame. I was not sure if I should go for the 18" but having bitten the bullet and gone for the 16 without testing it I am very pleased that I did. I feels just right for me in every dimension and made me realise that my previous bike with 18" frame was always too big for me.
The smaller frame allows me put my body in a variety of positions and I feel much more in control. The other thing I can't recommend highly enough is a dropper seat post as there are times that I change the seat hight more than the gears.

5'10" on a strange 16".

top tube length of an 18"
standover of a 16"
short chainstays.

it rocks.

That is classic Singletrack stupidness right there.

5'11" with an 18", 16" felt way to small.

I would say 16" for you.

My mate "claims" to be 5'8" and he ride a 16" Five with an inline post, 70mm Zero rise stem and low rise EC70's

I'm 5'11" and it feels small to me
