[#3754006]

Ok im doing some backpeddling here,and just been to look at an orange 5 at je james.the black and gold number,lim stumped i went with a thought in my head that it was gunna be like looking at an old nail and nothing could steer me away from the lapierre zesty 314 ive set my heart on.but now i realise why the 5,s get good write ups all over,it just felt right on the button,seat to hangers position etc,can sort of feel there made on home soil.
just want some 5 porn to hammer it home to me,before i blow the little ones inheritance,then nicole can pack her bags an **** off,cos nicola from halifax is moving in

Is it just me or does the Orange 5 look a lot better from the side with the chainrings? (Provided it's not been fitted with a fugly triple that is.) Something about the position of bottom bracket and swing arm just looks wrong.

My wife's just bought a Black & Gold Five. It's actually quite asthetically pleasing for a Five. She does need to ditch the big ring though.

that a 20. The picture makes it look a bit squashed

that better?

Much, thanks.

Edit: Would be better still if you ditched the front mech and got a shorter cage rear ๐Ÿ™‚

nah, can't see point to having just a single ring if it's your "do it all" (i.e only) bike.

My Yorkshire lass made a little more palateable with some of Lancashires finest from someone called Hope, whoever she is.

Not a Black and Gold but a Five Pro in black, I had a look at the Black and Gold in Leisure Lakes a few weeks ago and it reminded me of a JPS Norton

This is mine, also bought from James's.

Thoroughly enjoy it, and for your average trail rider the black/gold makes far more sense than the pro- better brakes, better suspension and cheaper for the same drivetrain.

lovely torque,i was all over the zesty,and after having a quick test ride i was a bit put off,it just didnt feel too comfy on me,think its cos im a short arse,and they are known for there long toprails,deffo a good looker tho.
and as said went to the shop just to ease my mind over the 5.lucky for me they had my size out on the shop floor,it kinda feels more compact and more suited to myself.didnt get a ride on it tho so it might go wrong from there.

Jarmin-that looks class.

I'd love Orange to make an 19inch 5! I'm sort of at the mid point between 18 and 20inch!

Cheers, it's plasma blue. I had a choice of that red or black as the standard colours when I bought it. I know a guy who bought a black one but the paint faded really badly

Hmmmmm, totally shite thread this ๐Ÿ™‚

I sold my '07 Five in October last year but I'm sorely tempted to buy another and this thread is not helping.

@jarmin, that looks mint!!
@orangewinger, what colour is that?

Really tempted by the Black Cherry colour but no idea what it looks like in the flesh. My old Five was silver so thought I'd go for something different........if I was to buy another that is ๐Ÿ™‚
