I have the opencycle layer on the viewranger app on my phone - surprised to see a lot of the local mountain bike trails marked on with their colloquial names (e.g. the nibbler, scalectrix in the Pentlands). Does this mean people upload their annotated routes?

The site is here - seems an awesome way of sharing trail information, with attendant potential for aggro over putting stuff up for the entire world to see. Anyone know how the site works with putting trails up?

basically, yes. that's the point of it.

log on, add features and periodically they get added to the online map.

I've been told:
The main thing to remember is to have a go, don't worry about mistakes or imprecision. Start small with a bike rack or telephone box and build up from there.

Here are some videos to help you get started using the web editor 'potlatch':

Garry - I've got some contacts for people in Edinburgh that do this sort of thing. Ping me an email and I'll forward it on (there was a workshop in Stirling recently - which I missed because it was sunny and I chose to ride my bike?!)
