Why wouldn't it be ok?

great for racing, not sure it needs to be done for general riding, but as far as looks go if you need approval from people on here i suggest you have a word with yourself ; )

Depends what your local riding is. Perfect for round here in the Tweed Valley. Winch up for 40 minutes and pop them on for 3-4 minutes of muddy slithering down steep hillsides.

As long as it's swimming goggles it's ok. DH goggles just look daft with open face.

Who gives a **** what you wear when you ride a bike, ride your bike wearing whatever you want.

It looks a bit stupid and try hard. But it seems to work and people like it so each to their own.

Perfect winter eyewear choice. I don't want mud in my eyes.

Haven't so far but after yesterdays mud fest the googles are going in the back pack for fast wet descents...

used to in proper grim UK winters, better than glasses, great in sleet etc.

Works for me! Less spray, no watery eye = better visibility = being able to go faster on the downs. Perfect.

I'd normally wear glasses instead of goggles, but I have worn goggles + open face on the off occasion and it's pretty great for winch + & plummet type terrain.

Obv no use in doing sweaty laps of XC...

It does look a bit odd, but then again so does most MTB fashion.

Still picking chunks of mud out of my eyes from our ride on Sunday so will be doing the goggles/open face thing on future dry weather but wet under wheel rides.

I've already got the stupid yellow #enduro wheels, how much sillier could I look... in for a penny and all that.

It works really well, I do it all the time for racing and non local riding. Not locally though, the lads would give me more stick than we give the guys who ride crackras

I got mud in my eyes on so many rides recently that I have adopted the enduro goggle open facer look, I can still see at the end of the trail so will keep on.

POAH Grow up, gay is not an insult and you are old enough to know better. I expect that kind of talk from kids and teenagers not grown men with children of their own. I really hope you teach your kids better behaviour.

I wear these Bullet Ant tactical goggles, that live under the visor of my lid.
They're kind of a halfway house between glasses and full-on goggles....and yes, I do look freakin awesome in them... 8)

I didn't get on with it, it made the helmet feel weird. Also found it a hassle to keep the goggles clean and dry and avoid steaming up etc. I guess i'd have put up with that if I thought there was any advantage but I couldn't see any personally.

I use 'em for racing but this time of year my favoured eye protection is a front mudguard due to steaming up issues (glasses and goggles)

I think its a good idea tbh, and doesn't look stupid ... can anyone recommend any decent googles ?

Abigale uses her Oakley snowboarding ones, just bought some clear vented lenses for them and swap them over

If it works use it, I find its not a bad combination for those sloppy wet days and when its too hot to go full face (30 plus,95% humidity)and dusty also.

Bonus points for the yellow boots, Enduroooooo.......

Back on track....wouldn't bother with vented lenses as they are going to get scratched to buggery and single lenses are much, much cheaper to replace. Go with a brand you can easily get replacement lenses for, other than that there's naff all between them all really.

You should be told off for using it in that context, It used to mean "happy" but we live in 2016 now and it's time to get with the times. When you think about it it's an awful homophobic way to use the word and it's a slap in the face for all gay people who read the forums. We are supposed to be moving forward not backwards.

So consider yourself told, suck it up (no pun intended) and stop trying to defend yourself. Take it like a man (fnar fnar) and admit you were wrong and don't do it again.

I've done it without thinking on Facebook, got a slap off my gay friend Emma. It's a learning curve.

It's shorthand for weak, useless, effeminate, which are all traits that coincidentally a lot of people have associated with gay people. Trying to claim there is no connection is ridiculous.

I still use the term in this way sometimes and have to remind myself not to do it - it's nothing to do with 'being PC' is just old-fashioned basic politeness.

because I can, just because you deam it to be degrogatory and homophobic doesn't mean it is. oddly you are the only person, hetero or homosexual, I know that has issues with it. Thankfully I don't have to deal with your atypical feminist/heterophobic attitude in person anymore.
