Just bought a carbon 456!

Couldn't resist the hundred quid off. I hope it lives up to its reputation!

Decided the extra weight saving over the blue pig was worth the extra pennies.

Nice one.

Mine is finished now but not had a chance to go for a ride yet...

Staying in tonight, so hoping I can fend off man-flu and go and get it mucky tomorrow.

Built mine up Xmas eve, just done 3rd ride today, and I'm very chuffed with it 🙂

Looks a LOT better than the website pics suggest when built up (Custom decals on mine though, the O-O ones are foul!)

Do I need to get carbon seat post now? And carbon bars... What about x0 cranks. Not to mention wheels! Why do I think this is going to get expensive I fear!

So.... Do I go for an easton post,or are there other better options?

I want a HT frame to put all my Orange 5 bits on, but I want it to be a do it all so it might need rack mounts etc for commuter duties.

Well I've got a Race Face Next SL, it's the second one I've had and both have been faultless - plus the ingenious clamp mechanism is nice to use.

But I paid £30 for mine from a nice man on the classifieds, not so sure about RRP!

Chakaping and PeterPody, they both look awesome...

I'm taking th ebuild kit off my current rediculous Kona Shred, Awesome for jumping about on, pretty rubbish at most other things, so it's gonna have:

DT EXC 150 fork
DT 5.1 rims on XT hubs (I like DT kit but couldn't afford the 240 hubs 🙁 )
Full XT finishing kit
Probably the same stem, so a 50mm gravity thing I think.

I'm not going to lie I am quite looking forward to building it up. Any advice for a mechanically minded first time builder? My biggest worry is going to be sticking the headset and BB bracket in.

I got the LBS to put the headset in, but HT2 bottom brackets are easy so long as you have the right spanner.

I've got this one...
