jeezus thats a lot of metal. They've got to be confident about their warranty with that amount of pipework!

How much does it weigh?

Stoner
weight wise i reckon about 32ish, feels lighter than the heckler i had
and yes they are reba maxle jobbies.
it is a 21'' frame, feels massive when i sat on it to set the shock sag.

I do like the look of that Ton, it is much nicer that your SC Heckler. Looks in proportion.

What is the difference between this and the other Ventana FS 29er, other than the extra pipework?

Looks good, by the way. I am sorely tempted by a 29er FS, if funds allowed

Looks one of the most balanced big bikes I've ever seen Tony. I hope I can do you a hardtail that looks as good as that - bit gutted you didn't have that out to play yesterday.

I think it'll be a revelation for you.

Looks like a "normal" 26" full sus bike, but with microdrive chainrings! Certainly the most in proportion 29er i've ever seen.

Certainly looks well snappy ๐Ÿ˜€ Some steepish angels there. Seat angle is 74 deg's isn't it. Should climb like a goat. Steering should be fast too.

Be interested to know what you think of the rear single pivot suspension. My Lenz on order has the same...

That somehow just looks "right". Don't know why, just does. Love the double top tube thing, very distinctive.

Welcome to the Ventana club Ton.

I'm sure Sherwood prides himself in making bikes that will take the 'larger rider'.

Your completely at the opposite end of the scale to me, 10.5stone and 5ft 4".

I've seen piccies of some big blokes on Ventana bikes. They have moved to them purely because they seem to break every body else's.

Happy riding

The frame looks like an early cannondale full suss and much more heavy duty than the swing arm, sorry. It's how it rides thought, right?

Looks good Ton let me know how it rides. Being the same height and weight as you i am interested to find out what you think, just broken my Blur LT for the 2nd time in 6 months so looking at alternatives at the moment ๐Ÿ™‚

Tried a mates rigid 29er yesterday, first time on it, and was really impressed on how it seemed to suit me, even if it was only a 19" frame. I think i might be sold on the whole 29er experence. ๐Ÿ˜€

Christ that is big. I could make two frames out of all that metal; one for me, and a little tiny one for Mamadirt!

Are those 29" wheels???

I'm not happy with that pipework. Very unaesthetic...

so your nick name is ton because you real name is tony and your friend/mate are too lazy to say the full four letters ๐Ÿ˜€

I though it was due to your "stature" that will teach me.

Wheels are to big anyway...

That's the nicest looking big fella/big wheeled full susser I've seen (not that I've seen many of course).

I hope you're going to put good brakes on it as when you get that moving it's going to take a lot to stop you.

I'm just glad Turner make an alternative. That is still one fugly frame. Still - means you can change all your user names to 'el cap' now.

Looks good, and as others have said "in proportion" (for a clown bike) ๐Ÿ˜‰

But 21 stone. TWENTY ONE of 'em? Jeezus. Remind me not to piss you off. That's over 2 of me, and I'm only 8% shorter than you... (and I think I'm overweight!). I knew you were a big lad, but I hadn't realised *that* big.

Have fun with it - I've got a Sherwood Gibson/Ventana welded (I believe) Turner, and its a fantastic piece of kit. Absolutely bombproof.

Absolutely bombproof.

I guess I should qualify that. "Absolutely bombproof for a 10stone lightweight skinny streak of piss", but I've not heard of any body else breaking them either.

sherwood reckons blokes bigger than me are riding them in the states.
so in a country where claim is king, i feel pretty sure i will be fine.

I take it when you finish with that frame it is scrapped on Teeside?

Is there any asbestos threat to fellow riders on the trail?
