Guys I think the whole point of larger head tubes is not out and out stiffness but stiffness to weight hence hollow tech cranks etc.

Nope, don't like it. Plus it's a 29er and don't ask why as I can't say why, but I just don't like any Gary Fisher.

🙁

rockcliffe the site your name links to is pretty beautiful

i think the main advantage of an oversized head tube is greater surface area onto which the other tubes connect.

that on-one doesn't look great.... IMO.

Headsets now available...

I am told that this one is for 1 1/8" steerers in a tapered headtube and can run a tapered steerer with a different crown race (available separately). I've ordered one but check for yourself before you order as I do find the whole thing strangely bewildering for something that should be so simple!

Hope ones along soon.

Have you seen it though?

You've seen one (or two) pics of a frame only lying on its side.

I've got one on pre-order and I've got to say I preferred some of the other proposed graphics but I'm going to see what it looks like in the flesh and built up. IF I really don't like it I'll either:
~ flog it
~ paint it
~ leave it covered in mud
~ learn to live with it.

I can't see it being too bad in real life though - black on black's pretty neutral - it's not going to be at either end of the hideous/wonderful spectrum.

Besides, I'm much more interested in how it rides.

Yep the new graphics put me right off

Shame £ 450 for a long forked carbon hard tail is a steal really

Classic case of nearly but not quite

That is an aesthetic disaster 😯 . Hope it rides better than it looks!

Carbon can look as sexy as ****, that looks like it was just pulled out the mould. Figuratively speaking.

I would worry about the dropouts, are they bolted directly into carbon as a bit of cackhandedness could destroy the threads?

Good to see they went with the ugly graphics option to match the frame!
