Afternoon all,
Does anyone have any recommendations for insurance companies that cover multiple bikes, but that also have a sensible policy covering bikes carried on the back of the car? We have a long trip coming up, the bike will be locked to the rack with a long Masterlock Snake type lock plus a few smaller locks, but it's not practical to lock each with a huge 'gold standard' u lock for the few mins we grab a bite to eat.
Any experience or advice?
I doubt it. I wouldn't insure bikes left on the back of a car, even with a lock!
And never mind the lock - what are you locking it to? Those bike rack tubes wouldn't last 30 seconds with a hacksaw never mind a battery operated grinder.
Laka do if it's locked with gold sold secure. Unlikely to get insurance without using a gold standard lock.

I think I'll just handcuff one of the children to the bikes as well. If they take the child they are welcome to the bikes.
I have fitted the rear towing eye and looped a cable through frames and then locked to the eye.
As long as secured with more than just the rack lock, Aviva cover bikes on car.
