Just curious to hear how they ride, and to see pics with a rigid fork. I have got just about enough bits to build one. Mostly for natural flowy trail riding here in Fife.

Dead good - ridden mine for 3 years (with a Reba fork) and it has been great - light, responsive, compliant but strong.

Yay! How many bikes now Pete?

FWIW I heard all sorts of good things about them prior to my semi-failed 29er experiment (semi-failed in that IMO 29ers suit only some types of riding, such as yours)

Yep.
I ride mine all the time.
Mines the Ti version, but the geometry seems to be the exact same as a Scandal (I think!).
Very comfortable I can tell you.
Fast on any down hill gradient and very stable too.
Overall I'm not sure I'm any quicker on it than on my Turner Flux, but Hell, I ride it everywhere I'm not anticipating getting lots of air or encountering very rocky terrain, which is where 4 inches of sus' comes into its own.
My Turner's gathering dust I'm afraid!

Al, rationalization is around the corner. VT gone, and Trance on its way too. I think my On One Ti CX could be next. Thinking I'd use a 29er more.

Ti 29er, I've got a Flux gathering dust too.

Must be a 16"? I'm thinking of trying a 16" Inbred 29er; currently ride an 18" at 5'10".

Love mine, probably the best bike I have had. First built up rigid single speed

Then added gears and Reba's

Now back to rigid but with gears and its great, weighs about 23lb, tubless Stans with bonty mud X's grips and climbs fantastic. Only problem is my 575 has not turned a wheel since I started riding this!!!

As he's at work currently, he's about 5ft 10/11, same height as me roughly.

His is indeed a 16", said he got it cos he prefers a smaller frame... Lots of post is showing yeah, but it's a Thomson, and he's not a big fella.

To be fair, at the same height I'd probably go for an 18" personally, but would fit a 10mm shorter stem at the same time to compensate... But I'm a known seatpost/saddle bender, and have a 33" inside leg which is pretty long for my height.

Shame on you smuzzy- that 575 was looking really nice when you were building it up!
Saying that I am using my ss inbred alot more than the geared ti456 I got from you at the moment- alot less cleaning required!

clink -I'm 5ft10 and ride an 18" on-one 29er the 16" is dinky unless you have very short legs.

Love my scandal 29er, incredibly floatylight singlespeed with a 4" boingy fork. It goes like a ****er both up and down hills ๐Ÿ˜€
