They look pretty similar. How do you tell the difference? Is it just the head angle that's different?
456 is the name of the FRAME
DN6 is the tubing it's made from
The standard non-456 frame is made from the same stuff but is built for shorter forks, is a tad longer, a bit lighter and has a thinner top tube.

I know that - I was trying to differentiate between the old and new style inbreds.
I'll try again.
How do you tell the difference between the standard 100mm travel DN6 inbred frame and the 456 DN6 frame?

I've already explained that bit too!!

And also the head angle too, like you said.
They are very similar.
and they're different colours?
Look at the way the wishbone runs from the top tube.
456's have an almost straight through transition with a straight weld on the side of the seat tube, the seat tube kind of piercing the top tube and a 35mm diameter wishbone.
Regular inbreds don't. They have a top tube that meets the seat tube, then a wishbone that comes off the back.
Cheers Brant. That's what I meant - distinguishing features. You can't really tell from a picture if it's lighter or has a slightly longer top tube ๐
So, what you wanted was a 'spotters guide', not any differences in how it might ride, then?
what colour was it in the picture?
It's red. I've got a 'standard' non-sliding drop out inbred and was looking at the picture of a 456 thinking 'that's the same as mine'. I've checked the weld on the seat tube and the pic is of a 456. Every day's a school day.
Thanks chaps
