[Closed] On One Inbred 29er frame size - go bigger or smaller?

I'm thinking of buying one of the nice orange frames but need some advice on what size to go for - I'm 6' 3" with 37" inseam. Seems like I'm on the line between a 19.5" or 21" and not sure which would be best.

Also, is it better to go for a longer ETT and a short stem on a 29er?

Many thanks.

I don't know the 29ers but I've had 3 26" Inbreds and they're long - for 5'8 a 16" is perfect.

I'd say for you, the 21 though there's only one way to be sure.

I am 6'3" too (although short legged and long bodied) and I have a 19.5" Scandal 29er and it is spot on. I definitely wouldn't want to go any bigger. I could easily fit a slightly longer stem and push the saddle back on the rails a cm or two if I wanted more reach too.

Where are you? You are welcome to try my Scandal for size if you are near Hertfordshire.

Probably go for the same size frame as you would have gone for on a 26" version, if that helps?

Saying that, I have just gone from a 16" 26 Inbred to a 18" 29er Inbred, with a slightly shorter stem and Fleegle bars & it feel fine for me.

(I am 5-9 btw & between sizes too)

I'm 6'4" with a 36/37" inside leg.

Here's a photo of my 21" 29er. You can see how much seat pillar it out of the frame. It's a 400m NC-17 Seat Pillar by the way.

Thanks for info everyone. I guess there's no substitute for trying the bike for size. Jfeb, thanks for the offer, but I'm in S Gloucestershire so a bit far away!

stick_man, If you ever get up Worcester way and want to try a 18" drop me an email

Might help to ride a few different sizes even if they do come up too small or big for you.

The 21" inbred 29er is very long! I'd say it would be worth trying to get a go on a 19.5.
