new bike sat in the warehouse at work, unridden
just had a weeks touring with the wife..awesome
got my health sorted out, so made up with that...but I feel down and cant be arsed to ride hardly.
prior to getting my health sorted I was riding over 100 miles every week and really enjoying it.
now I am only doing 10 or so a day, and it feels like a proper chore.

Post holiday blues? Season change? Coming down with lurgy?
I had a week of the blues when I came back from my holiday last month. I managed to shrug them off with a few short rides in the woods, practicing bunny hops, skids and wheelies rather than trying to get loads of miles in. Skids are the best!

Be reet fella. Just put everything to one side for a little while and come back to it later. In the meantime, go and find something new to occupy your time. It's a cliche, but a change is as good as a rest.
Think about something that you've always wanted to do, but never got around to. Now is the chance to actually get round to it.*
* Coke and hookers does not apply to this situation.
Cheer up for goodness sake, its Friday you have a nice new bike and your health. So what if you don't want to ride..don't beat yourself up over it im sure you'll get the love back soon.
What bike did you get in the end then? ๐ Got any pics?
Ride to pub, have pints ride home, short rides without the worry if it having to be "epic" or "gnar" make the destination the goal rather than the ride. It'll come back around
Alternatively join a few of us at Cannock tomorrow for a chilled out pedal around on the pebbles.
eh big lad, it happens to all of us, just give it a bit of time, you don't HAVE to ride all the time.
Those holiday snaps look great, looks like you and the Mrs had a great time, and it's good to see you back on your feet and riding.
We need to get Lowey and Junkyard contacted and get a ride pencilled in.
You called ๐
YGM all of you
We need to sort this
Get on iplayer and watch Marvellous from last night........
you don't HAVE to ride all the time
+1
take some time off to let yourself fully recharge...absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that
Bit of early onset SADS perhaps?
Maybe don't worry so much about riding mileage, just getting out frequently, even for short rides/walks anything really should help adjust mood.
I was talking with my Missus about this sort of thing last night, She said she definitely notices a change in my mood/general motivation to do stuff when I've not ridden for a bit, and it can become a bit of a vicious circle...
I said it must be something to do with them there "Endolphins" or that "Testoestrogen" triggered by activity levels, and that doing fun stuff makes me happier than... err, not doing fun stuff???
Anyway blokes are relatively straight forwards, none of this menstrual nonsense.
As a friend of mine once put it when asked about how he was feeling:
Real men only have four "Feelings":
-About right
-Hunger
-Fear
-Anger
Empathy wasn't his strong suit TBH...
Isn't depression pretty common after a cardiac event/surgery?
Don't fret, it's nearly beer o'clock ๐
Mrs ton said she thought I might be a bit depressed, coming back from a nice holiday and stuff.
I reckon I need a bit of mtfu and a nice ride and a few beers with some mates.
It's normal, it happens to most people, it'll pass.
Get on iplayer and watch Marvellous from last night........

Don't underestimate those daylight lamps, they aren't snake oil..
