I've just bought a dura ace bottom bracket which came with fitting adapter TL FC24. However this tool doesn't remove the existing BB on the bike which is an SM-BBR60, I think a 2015 ultegra BB from what I can find. The fitting tool I have is too small but can't find anywhere what I need for it. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help much appreciated thanks.

You wouldn't be able to install with the adapter alone you're going to need the original HTII (or equivalent) tool to use to both remove the old one and install the new (using the adapter).

Something like this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/park-tool-bottom-bracket-tool-hollowtech-ii/rp-prod4062?

Although most people will probably buy a cheaper non-Park one but IME it's better to have one with an complete circle hole in the tool to prevent slippage.

I've already got the tool sorry. This fits fine with the adapter I have to install the new BB, it's just the adapter I need to take out the old one that I'm unsure of.

So you have the tool (similar or same to the one in my link) and you have the adapter? Can you not just use the tool without the adapter to remove the old BB then? Remember that one of the cups will be reverse threaded (can never remember which one, I just look at the arrow on the cup!).

No the tool on its own is too big and with the adapter it's too small so there must be some other adapter or tool I need. The tool I have is this one I used for an sram BB on the mtb.

If you are removing a BBR60 you need adaptor TLFC25. Shame this didn't come up a couple of days ago, I had a spare kicking about.

Well, I'm stumped then... Someone will be along shortly to spot what I'm/we're missing I'm sure ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Edit: there you go ๐Ÿ˜‰
Edit #2: so there are TWO smaller HTII cups now then if I'm understanding this? Well I never!

Yes, there's one size for Dura-Ace & XTR and another for Ultegra & XT.

Love it! However since I can't imagine for a second I'll ever think I need a DA BB over an Ultegra/105 one (particularly since I'm mainly SRAM) I won't let it frazzle my brain too much ๐Ÿ˜‰
