As I'm still stuck in the past on my full Susser (that being 26" wheels) I'm after a new rear. I have a Rubber Queen 2.2 black chili on the front. Very good tyre, and I would like the same again for the rear. I know they changed to Trail Kings but I'm not sure on what spec was what for compound...

I've seen some on the 'bay that have the word 'Tubeless' on the side, as a far as I can see doing some searches they should have the black chili compound.

Only the basic wire beads had the rock hard rubber on them...

Can anyone cast their mind back a few years and remember if that is correct?

Cheers

If they say “Made In Germany” they’re black chili.

Thanks, I thought that was the case but couldn't remember, also I'm sure if the little crown logo was in the tread that also meant black chili

I think there might have been some folding bead non-Black Chilli about that were OEM only.

Made in Germany was the way to confirm

No, I think they all have that logo - I remember hearing that Halfords had black chili tyres cheap years ago because this logo was on them, but sadly it doesn’t mean that.

Similar to tjagain- pretty sure I've got a black chilli conti 26" buried in my parents shed. Not had much use before I got a 29er. However, I think it's X-King 2.4" though.

If you're interested and near north Warwickshire I'll find it (I can't be bothered to post it though)

Thanks for the offer, surprisingly that is whats on the rear at the minute, rolls quick but doesn't have much braking grip.

tjagain has sent a couple of Rubber Queens my way so just waiting for Mr Postie to turn up and I can have a play.
