All done last weekend in Holland, without being immodest, awesome stuff! A few details and photos here www.owmtbc.org, loads more photos available.
In summary though, it was an event for pre-1996 bikes held in north west Holland. Lots queried Holland as a venue, in fact the guys from Germany said that they were really worried as they completed their 1,000km journey, but without exception all were buzzing once they'd ridden the flowing, wooded singletrack). But it wasn't only racing, the event included a wide range of activities to show the collection of cherished and classic bikes at their best.
The overall champion was Freider Meier from Dresden in Germany, riding his 1990 Brave Racer. He successfully completed a Dutch boxbike trail (with partner Marcin Chrobak from Poland) and rode two superfast laps of the suprisingly rolling and beautiful Schoorl XC track.
There were a host of other winners and some top prizes courtesy of the sponsors Retrobike and Howies. Roll on 2010 in the UK and 2011 in NorCal when our international ambassadors (Charlie Kelly, Gary Fisher, Charlie Cunningham, Joe Breeze) will be hosting......
Suprised some if the old tat made it there in one peice and made the lap without leaving a trail of parts ๐
PS catch up soon!
Dude, the tat was phat!
