Pretty sure the answer is ‘no’ but just in case, is there compatibility between Pro2 and Pro2Evo freehubs? I know the axle and therefore bearings in the evo is larger, but I’m just having a halfarsed plan that involves an old but good 26” wheel with a pro2 at the centre of it and an XD driver... I think if I try to go down this road I’ll need to build a new wheel?
Its doable:

I asked this exact question of Hope a couple of weeks back. HUB253 is the conversion kit you need.
Cool! Better than expected!
I might be flying the 26aintdead flag in a while then... 😁
I see. So, that’s a standard pro2evo XD driver and an axle that steps down to the pro2 bearings but is the same as the Evo at the ends, so presumably takes Evo endcaps?
Yes. The hub shell bearings are the same for both pro2 & evo (as the hubshell is identical). The kit comes with evo endcaps (as appropriate for QR/through axle etc) and the evo NDS version plugs straight into the non evo seal.
😕 not so lucky as I thought I might be then... I remembered swapping the axle to accommodate 10mm and wondered if I might have used this axle, but after test fitting an Evo XD freehub I have handy to see, there’s no engagement with the freehub body bearings so I guess not. D’oh!
