What do you do with yours?
I need to move some older gear out the draw to make way for fresh goods and was thinking is it the type of thing you put in a charity shop/charity bag or is there a specific biking type charity that collects stuff like that?
Or do I just add to the colossal clothes waste buried beneath us?
EDIT: just tops etc sure even a charity wouldnt want a second hand pair of bib tights
There are good folk who go to bike jumbles and try to sell used cycle clothing. Not sure how you would get in touch with them though, try an email to the Clarion House in Nelson to ask if they know of anybody who collects vintage kit.

Wear it, and not buy new stuff until it's worn out, thus attempting to contribute as little as possible to

Sorry, slightly pissy answer, but, y'know.
Slightly less pissy answer: sell it, give the money to a charity of your choice.
There are a few cycle charities around, I recently dropped off a bag full of old stuff to The Charity Bike Shop in Prestbury. They'd loads of bib shorts (and non-bib shorts too) in there
There'll be somethnig close to you I'm sure. I'm planning to go back at some point as they'd loads of accessories like luggage and rack packs
