Just another quickie...but probably not many folk up at this time.. wanting to order new rear mech n shifters. Will old style XTR (M960) rapid rise rear mech mix with new SLX M660 shifters?

Yup
Been confirmed to me that it's all frontwards, and backwards, compatible.
Of course though, your rapid rise rear mech will remain the "wrong way" round to most of us 😉
Incidentally, tried out some SLX shifters today for the first time, very nice! Like the 2 way release thing too, which previous generation shimano shifters don't have.
