So far we've done

Garburn
Grizedale/Parkamoor
Walna Scar
Borrowdale Bash
Borrowdale and Warnscale
Ullock Pike
Helvellyn/Sticks Pass
Ullswater BW

On the list for this time is the Four Passes and another..

Nan Bield
Helvellyn/Sticks/summit/Dollywagon
Helvelln/Sticks/Seldom Seen/Ullswater out and back

Should we be considering a Loughrigg ride and if so which one?

Does anybody have a good route that takes in Jenkins Crag?

And we always do the Grizedale/parkamoor route from TheEdgeCycleworks, does anybody have a better way of doing Grizedale?

Or anything else? If its cheeky and you don't want to put it on here please email me. If its too cheeky for a group on a weekend I'll just put it in my file for a weekday ride.

I think that a very rideable ride would be good to offset the Four Passes.

Neither Nan Bield or Hellvelyn are fully rideable UP and Nan Bield, if you drop to the ressie, is definitely a Hike a bike [ and a challenging one at that] rather than just a push

I dont have my routes on this computer to help out much but you seem to have done the classics

Here's a different take on Grizedale. Nice mix of natural + NFT:

If you want rideable Grizedale is ace IMO. Loads to go at too if you've only done the Parkamoor loop out of the VG book - can be linked up with Claife Heights which is super-scenic and has some really good bits of riding.

Thanks pdw

Grum - I've done the Claife heights loop on TheEdgeCycleworks Grizdale route but I suspect there are better trails than that hidden in there..

There's at least 3 good descents in Claife Heights not on that Edge Cycleworks route - not massively long but good fun. Harrow Slack is the longest one.

There are some good FPs and sneaky DH tracks in Grizedale but it's a bit difficult to explain where they are - I don't have any GPX files either, so perhaps none of this is massively helpful!

Start at Ambleside, over your chosen route to start of garburn pass at troutbeck side - road over or there is a bridleway a couple of miles south of Ambleside.

Then up garburn and keep going at the top, up onto yoke, Ill bell, mardale, and then round to nan bield, and down to kentmere. If your fresh, then at longhouses head up on to staveley head fell and do the three rivers descent ( if not, just head over to high borrans from kentmere via Hall wood) then high borrans - troutbeck and finish on Jenkins crag.

The amount of hike a bike on the tops from garburn will depend on the fitness of your group, but they ain't big hills, so you're never pushing for very long, and if the weather is kind, you'll be treated to one of the best vistas in the whole LD.

I'd give yourself 6 hours time wise.
