Im going to Oban for a week or so in few weeks time to see my folks who live up there. Last time I took my swift monster crosser, loads of fire road tracks to cruise around on, nice singletrack around the coast etc. Seen some stuff on trailforks recently on both Ben Lora and up in Sutherlands Grove which look intersting. So the question is, should i take the full sus, or the crossbike? Is the stuff on Ben Lora and Sutherlands grove ridable on a rigid bike albeit with 2.35" tyres?

Not the forest it once was, a LOT of clearing, steep but maybe not so fast that the full suss would be essential?
