Anyone about who can suggest where we can leave a car in Oban for a long weekend - we're planning a trip to Tiree with bikes, although as we can’t take time off for the ride from Perth to Oban, we need to drive that bit. Web searches seem to bring up a lot of information a few years old, and possibly out of date, and the Calmac website is not terribly helpful, it it seems that long term parking is scarce. To complicate matters, the ferry sails at 6:15am, and we don’t intend to stop the night in Oban before sailing, although that might be a solution.
Few miles out but we parked at Connell station for free for 3 days when we did a loop out of Oban.
Ask at Hazlebank Motors in Lynn Road.
There was a long stay car park next to the sports centre. I left the car there for a week a couple of years back. Emailed the local council at the time as I wasn't sure either, and that's where they recommended.

I had absolutely no problem at all parking on a Sunday in August at the Calmac long stay car park right next to the terminal. Picked the car up four days later and dont recall it being particularly expensive.
Thanks. I did think of Connell, but not sure I can sell the ride to Oban at that time of the morning to my wife. I’ll look at the other suggestions too.
I think the Longsdale Car Park may no longer be an option. Best check with the council.
At the local calmac ferry here to Arran, it's a fiver for a whole weekend at the ferry car park.
That won't get you 2 coffees on the ferry. Pay up. 😊
We've parked up here http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=185025&Y=729688&A=Y&Z=115 a few times. Very hit and miss as to whether you can find a space as it's just roadside parking.
You could ring CalMac and ask ...
This time last year we left the van in the car park next to the sports centre for the week, not sure if that's still possible?
