The Scandal's that are now back in stock at On One have Vertical Dropouts. The previous ones had slot dropouts.
What difference does this make to me please. Have no intention of going singlespeed so presume I'm OK. Would either work with a Rohloff hub if I decided to go that way?
Thanks in advance.
Are you sure you have got that right? I thought the new ones have slots, just been on the site and still dont see the verticle ones??
Difference is the slot will run either SS or geared the verticle only raan gears or SS with a tensioner, the verticle however does have a replaceable mech hangar where the slot one doesnt.
Your on about 29r's?
Thanks for the info. The last Scandal 29ers had slots. The new ones...

Probably better for me then if I have no intention of ever going single speed...
Yep.. I was supprised as I ended up buying my 26r 2nd hand as I wanted to only ever to run gears and prefered the replaceable mech hangar.
Wonder if they are going to do verticle 26 again too.. Not that it matters am happy with mine.
Can you run a Rohloff with either then?
Buy a really light frame to offset the 2lb increase in drivetrain.. dont know, probably the slot would do away with the tensioner for a Rolhoff.
Rolhoff plus vertical dropout = need tensioner (unless I assume you have an EBB)

That's that sorted then. Thanks tinsy & ctznsmith
