Anyone own one of these and can give some feeback, looking for a general all round hardtail. Looks stunning in the polished Aluminium.

Don't have a 290 but my 2017 275 is a great all-rounder - even with 160 forks up front.

Got a frame about a year ago, I've had a few nice hardtails over the years but never kept them long as I got fed up with the punishment. I don't know if it's because I built this with 2.6 tyres but I really do like this bike. I haven't ridden the full sus much at all this bike just does everything I need. Run mine with a 150mm fork because it's what I had. I did think about changing the travel but I really like it as is.

Andy - Which frame did you get ? (seems you can only get the lower end (blue) and midrange (grey)) How do you find the bike on longer XC rides ?
thanks

I was after the pro but there wasn’t going to be any back in stock until January, but a shop near me had a large 290 Race in stock. They all use the same frame apparently and it’s just the spec that’s different so I grabbed it and added some choice upgrades.
I found some nearly new pike ultimates on PB and fitted a 200mm dropper and some deore 4 pots.
I love riding it. It’s comfortable on longer rides, climbs well and feels great downhill. Really pleased with it.

I got the grey one, would like the silver but I do like a grey bike. I have to say the bike is fine on longer rides really have not got any complaints.
I'm bang on 6 feet and I have the xl, was really unsure about going for it to start with but it's great I have a 170 mm dropper on it the collar sits about 10mm from the top of the seat tube.

I have had mine a year. Love it. Have had a few steel hardtails and was worried it might be a bit harsh but doesn't seem to be. Have used it all over the peak as well as the lakes and Wales.

I think you're right. On their website the different models all appear to be the same frame, but in different colours, and different spec parts. This looks like a decent frame to build up, being 6:2ft (189cm) seems I'm definitely a XL.

Yeah the bike shop I bought from said they’re all the same just different colours and spec. The frame looks fantastic IMO with that straight line from top tube through to chainstays. I wasn’t sold on the blue and really liked the silver but when I saw the blue in flesh I was chuffed as it really does look lovely.
