Ok, I have begun cycling more and buying more shoes.

I am a 46 in normal shoes. I found a size 47 Shimano DX and AM45 fit perfect. I presume Shimano's sizing must be very consistant? Or is there a difference with Shimano between footwear types e.g. hiking boot/skate type shoes like the AM45 and shoe types like the XC50?

The reason I ask is because I bought a size 47 Pearl Izumi Select (shoe type) and they were a little too snug. So I have returned them for a 48 which I think should be ok? Are all shoe types 2 sizes under, or is Pearl especially snug? Nice shoes though. Very light.

What say ye?

Had to go up a size with my Sidis but they're notorious for that, however I've got wide feet and they fit fantastically plus have lasted the best part of 10 years.

Depends on where the shoes are from tbh, italian shoes are more likely to be narrow, where as US and UK based shoes will be wider. Although having said that, Scott are fairly narrow. Shimano tend to come up a size or two small, where as my Scott comps were almost perfect length wise.
