Out for a lovely pootle in the sunshine this morning and saw a (roe?) deer running through a field when I was on the way to Strelley Hall - specifically running down the hill away from Shaws Plantation/Catstone Hill reservoir.

First time I've see deer round there in 12 years of riding at all times of day and night. Are they a recent arrival or have I just been missing them?

The way it was headed I did wonder if it was on it's way home to Wollaton Hall after pulling an all nighter

I saw one on the Hucknall road singletrack about 2 years ago

I live about a mile from Strelley Hall, but haven't seen them over there.

There are plenty of deer around Watnall/Greasley fields, but that's quite a long way away.

Shall keep my eyes peeled.

Not just me then! There is a small herd in the fields off Trowell Moor - between the old canal and the wedding venue place, might have got out from there perhaps.

Loads of deer all up the M1 corridor, quote often see pretty big herds in Felley woods (between j26&j27)

Never seen them Strelley way and I'm Kimberley (now Watnall) all my life. I guess there must be plenty around. Had a very close encounter on Narrow Lane, Moorgreen end with one shooting out of a hedge next to me.
