Was at Carron Valley today with my dog. Took these pictures on fire road.

Make you own mind up on what caused them.

Cats = retractable claws, so unlikely to make a print like that.

Grizzly Bear I reckon ๐Ÿ˜€

I was only on fire roads. Some bikers were on trails but I didnt see any of them to ask what state they were in.

I reckon they'd be pretty bad still. Hard compact ice under tree cover in some places.

Where I took picture the fire road was under about a foot of snow.

Just the one print, or a series of them?
Looks man made juging by the two squares at 7 o'clock and 12 o'clock and five 'claw' marks. Most animal prints only have 4 claw marks

It's obvious isn't it, it's the guy whose hand is in the first photo, he has a picture of him doing it for goodness sake, got to look for the details.

Should have just posted the second photo me thinks! ๐Ÿ˜†

There are reports that the Scottish Wildcat is in Carron Valley - not sure of any sightings but prints and droppings confirm this (apparently) - perhaps it was a Wildcat that made the print and the melting snow has enlarged it?

not a cat, they have retractable claws so don't show in the prints. Its from a dog

You mean Scottish big cat? Wildcats number less than 400 but they're not extinct yet.

No I mean Scottish Wildcats...as in the things that are very very rare but have been spotted in Carron Valley - well not spotted but their fallout has been - prints and waste, etc...

Of course it could be a very large Red Squirrel as they are also natural inhabitants at Carron Valley...
