Hi All,
I'm looking for new places to ride and wondered if anyone could help me out.
I usually ride in the Peak District (Ladybower, Hope, Cutgate etc.). But now living and working in York, I'd like to find some routes closer to home.
Could anyone please recommend some good technical and rocky routes/places to ride not too far from York (other than Dalby and Stainburn)?

Always wondered where York ppl ride, what with no hills and that. Be interesting to find out.

York based riding group that tend to get out on the North Yorks Moors and loads of other places. I've ridden with them plenty of times, a good group with a real mixture of riders (from XC, trail centre heroes and bigger mountain shredders).
Worth a punt if your local 🙂
This is a great book, with some really good routes - I've ridden many of them, & most an hour or less from York.

Stacks of natural stuff on the NYM & your'e still not far from the YORKshire Dales.

If you give me an idea of length and type of riding you want I'll send over a few GPX files (email in profile). I would say I would show you some stuff but I'm not back up until Easter unfortunately.
I would also recommend the Tuesday night ride at Dalby Bike Barn, a few groups, loads of fun and mostly off piste stuff. I think they are also going to start running some stuff from sutton bank later in the year so keep an eye on facebook

Joe - I'm looking for rides that last 2-4 hours (15-25 miles).
I've ridden a couple of times around Sutton Bank, but don't really know any routes.
