Anybody got this on their phone and can it be used as a poor man's GPS for biking? In particular, has anyone got it on a Nokia 5800? Ta.

Do a search as several recent threads on this already - I use it on Nokia N95 8GB and found it to be a bit hit and miss so more for casual use than a real GPS

I've got it on my E71.
I've used it once on a Thursday night ride.
You can see it here.

Only used it to record a route, not follow one. Dunno what else it can do.

Seems to work pretty well. Easy integration with website etc.

used it a few times on my E71, only recorded routes so far. Does the job well, ok it's no garmin, but it's a great freebie for Nokia users

Do you need to install Nokia Maps to get it to work properly?

Mine won't install becuase Vodafone Spain are using a firmware from the middle ages.

Just worth mentioning that on the N95 at least, updating your phone's firmware can make a huge difference to how the GPS works - mine used to be rubbish (10+ mins to get a lock and was then very hit and miss especially under trees) but now locks on in under a minute even indoors.

I use it every so often to monitor training, which it works well for.

I'm using it on my N78. There are quite a few users on STW - do a search. And if you really want to, you can join an STW group on SportsTracker which then allows route sharing...

created a few routes so far, but not followed one yet. (although had done on previous phone and it worked fine)

as above have used it for recording what you've done and it is kind of interesting (in a geeky way) to record your route then get to review what you've done, but I would not say it is a good replacement for a full GPS.

But I haven't followed a route on it so it may not be too bad although the mao you use isn't great (atleast in Norway) looks better in google maps once your on the website.

neat feature, it tags photos you take to the gps position and the music your listening to at the time, last one is a bit pointless yess
