With an event entry held over from last year but no communication in the best part of a year it seems likely that No Fuss have disappeared. Haven't seen any official comment though so thought someone on here might be in the know.
Macavalanche?
I've not heard anything. Will ping Fraz and Spook a message and see what they say.
I've messaged my contact, as I know Fraser's son has been in hospital and his mum died recently, so he has had other priorities, and it's normally Fraser who deals with enquiries.
I know that last year they took the decision to cancel everything and wait for some kind of normality to return, rather than take bookings, and have to handle continual cancellations/date changes.
Can't remember where but I'm sure I've read they wouldn't be running any more events. I could well be wrong about this and it may have been another race organiser but the post was about this years Macavalanche as far as I can remember
I've had a reply.
Due to all the personal stuff, events are well down the list of priorities just now. NoFuss is however still alive, and should be back once there is clarity over events.
Good to hear. 👍🏻😎
That's good.
I know Relentless was never going to happen last year regardless but we good to see Macavalanche and TUTB back
Thanks for the info all. Obviously sorry to hear about the problems but pleased to hear things could happen again as I've enjoyed the events before.
I got a vague reply from Glencoe about a month ago that they were hoping MacAvanche would run but were waiting for government guidance. Obviously that's not going to happen at this stage.
I appreciate they have personal stuff going on but it really doesn't take long to put out a quick update on Facebook or an email, even if it's just a "wait for more info".
Maybe you don't appreciate the severity of the personal stuff going on - yes, would take 5-10 minutes to post something, but given this isn't directly related to the personal stuff, it isn't being thought of just now (which is understandable). If it been someone had stubbed a toe was having to wear slippers instead of work shoes then I'd agree, something should have been done, but given the severity of the stuff, I've no issues with not hearing anything official.
I'm glad things will be happening again as I was hoping TUTB would be going again at some point, so I'm quite happy with that news. My entry will be rolled over so that is fine.
I realise that comes across badly, I absolutely understand that events are a long way down his priority list right now. That goes without saying. However it's been a year since last comms and a dead website and Facebook page. Meanwhile folk are trawling companies house, putting two and two together and coming up with eleven, events are on then cancelled then on again and Glencoe are the only ones with half an idea of what's happening. There are two folk running No Fuss, even if the other isn't tech literate it doesn't take much to fire an email to someone who is that can put a mention out.
Anyway, it'll happen when it happens. Would rather the story wasn't what it is but here we are. Best wishes to all concerned.
Fair points...I don't have a counter for those as I agree with them as well...however, I've no connection with No Fuss other than having an entry to TUTB.
Problem is they will lose a lot of goodwill. Macavalanche is/n't this weekend and heehaw information.
I've seen a Facebook post asking why no Comms if they are holding £21k worth of entries.
Hmm. I think the no comms thing has probably been covered fairly well up thread, Hundredth - and I know you're passing on stuff from a FB post rather than your own opinion. The £21k figure - what's the basis for that, I'd want to know? Is it someone multiplying the field number by the entry fee?
I don't know the No Fuss peeps and I've not entered anything they ran, but I do know that running events can be a pretty thankless task. It must be brutal in the current conditions, any family issues aside.
I don't disagree and would like them to be able to run events in the future. I can see the Facebook page getting hammered negatively soon (Mac meant to be this weekend) where 1 message would make a difference.
Email this morning annoucing that they're no more. EWS picking up the Scottish enduro series along with the Nevis range
Shame, but at least new organisers are honouring all previous entries.
Also very excited about possibilty of Macavalanche starting at top of goose chair all the way to the bottom of gondola via DH track. Wouldn't want to do it but would be some spectacle.
Without wanting to sound harsh but there was no way back for the company (no matter the personal back story).

I've got a carried forward entry from 2020 so I guess I'll find out next year, Covid permitting.
It's sad that it's gone - Ten Under and Relentless were really the only summer endurance events in Scotland left. The enduro stuff doesn't interest me at all - anyone can ride any of Scotland's enduro tracks whenever they want but to race head to head for ten or twenty four hours against a genuinely big field was exclusive to them and the Puffer. It's especially sad that it has ended like this, with people resenting them.
I didn't hear about Ten Under 2020's cancellation at the time so I don't think I'm in their email list despite being entered. Can someone post the text up here please? While it's great that the enduro events have been taken over I assume my entry fee for Ten Under is gone forever.
Back in 2004 when we first envisaged organising a mountain bike race in Fort William, our aim was to bring like-minded people together to ride great trails and have a great time. Fast forward 17 years and we hope you’ll agree that No Fuss Events and Scottish Enduro Series have exceeded expectations, fostering a genuine community who’ve enjoyed some spectacular events.
COVID 19 has proven a hard storm for No Fuss Events to weather, and ultimately not one we could face alone. So we’re delighted to let you know that our flagship events will live on, as we hand the baton over to the Nevis Range and the Enduro Sports Organisation (ESO), who are the team behind the Enduro World Series.
Ten Under the Ben and Macavalanche will continue their legendary run at the Nevis Range, with their team now also organising the events and who have already committed to honouring all existing entries.
The Scottish Enduro Series will live on with the team behind the Enduro World Series, with the Scottish based company planning to launch a reimagined series next spring, starting with an annual flagship event at the Nevis Range in the last weekend of April. They too will honour all existing Scottish Enduro Series event entries. More details will follow, but we’re excited to confirm next year's events will be part of the Enduro World Series Qualifier calendar. Frazer will be joining the ESO team to lead this exciting new chapter in the Scottish Enduro scene.
We’d like to thank all our volunteers, riders, partners and staff for their unwavering support over the last 17 years and hope you’re as excited about this new chapter as we are.
More details about next year’s events will be available soon and in the meantime we’d encourage you to sign up for the latest news and updates from the Nevis Range and Enduro Sports Organisation.
You can sign up to Scottish Enduro Here
We will be keeping in touch regularly over the next few weeks with announcements, dates and sign up details as we work to be No Fuss in a new way.
Keep yourself posted!
The irony of the last paragraph, that's what we wanted you to do all along. Even just a line or two.
Ok what am i missing? why the negativity towards No Fuss??

Don't agree at all. 15 years of good events and goodwill, 1 year where shit hit the fan, you can see from other people's responses in this thread that I'm not alone in that.
Without wanting to sound harsh but there was no way back for the company (no matter the personal back story).
Is that a personal thing or some sort of wide ranging sentiment that I'm not seeing?
That's a shame, as have enjoyed many 10 Under and associated events, even, remarkably, got a couple of trophies. Volunteer as well at several, that was always fun and a great lesson in the swan appraoch of keeping an event running serenely while paddling like mad.
I'd heard that some personal stuff had happened which affected the company but don't know what (nor do I want to).
But no matter a company like no fuss needs Comms and that failed. There's a lot of people out of pocket.

So, all good then. Or am I missing something?
There’s a lot of people out of pocket.
Which people ? All existing entry's to be honoured according to the press release. Anything we should know ?
And in their defence. Would you rather they gave out vague as **** statements ala sick bicycle and strung you all along or just came out with the final statement when they path was known and negotiated.

To be fair I started this thread because there had been absolutely no communication either privately or publicly for over a year. It took my starting this thread and someone reading it who happened to have personal contact details for someone from no fuss for any information to come out. Now five months on and 17 months since the last mention of an event an update has finally appeared. The same approach that tweedlove and many others took could have been followed. That is to give regular updates about the events, refund policies etc so that the punters (whose money is being held) know what is going on and can act accordingly. I run a small public facing business with one other person. Providing information to the public has never been easier. Even to someone not IT literate, posting an update on social media from a phone can be done very easily from virtually anywhere.
Looking from the outside in, if various parts of the No Fuss business and associated IP / assets were under negotiation for sale to a couple of different parties (effectively splitting up different parts of the operation and putting a value/price on each), it may well be they were unable to communicate, dependent on the terms of the negotiation and any NDA associated with it. That's just a thought.
I guess it's a difference between keeping schtum untill you have facts rather than just feeding you placeholders for what you want to hear....then dropping the bomb.
They couldn't win.
not sure why people have got so bothered about no updates, i'm not bothered about knowing until there is something definate to know.
glad its been sorted and i'll get to use my macavalanche and 2 SES entries but in the grand scheme of things if i had lost them it wouldn't have been that big a deal considering whats been going on in the last year or so.
i'm more annoyed about ard moors, hear nothing at all then today get an email with start times with less than 3 weeks notice. can't go as it clashes with the final tweedlove and it'll now be to late for refund etc. they must have known it was going to run a while ago.
Glencoe just posted on Facebook that they had no idea about any of this and the Macavalanche moving to Nevis Range is news to them. I do like Frazer and Spook but the way they've treated customers and partners has been pretty shit
