Broke as saddle last week and picked up the latest version of the SLR X Cross.
The rails are now manganese rather than Ti (selle Italia seem to move from manganese to 'vanox' to ti and back again over the years), but weirdly the clamping area is now 25mm shorter so that effectively the 'stop' marks are the same distance apart as a typical seat clamp. And it's all come off the back, so the only position is 25mm forward of the previous centre point.

Wow. I'd assumed this would be a super-short nose rather than just a waste of space

Even with a layback post I struggle to get my Brooks Swallow far enough rearwards.
